Review: Ahh okay — that changes my advice quite a bit. If your lower wisdom tooth repeatedly causes pain, swelling/infection, food getting trapped, bad taste, etc., then I wouldn’t just ignore it because it’s calm right now. The fact that it’s feeling okay after the upper teeth were removed is great, but it doesn’t necessarily mean the underlying problem with the lower tooth is gone. Why I’d seriously consider removing it If a lower wisdom tooth keeps causing episodes, every “flare-up” can mean inflammation/infection around the tooth, and a partially erupted or impacted lower wisdom tooth can also make the neighboring molar harder to clean and potentially damage it.
